Snow Equals Rest

Last night the snow began to fall as Brian and I huddled under our down comforter with champagne (I wish!) ok, white sparkling wine. The candles were lit and the house was quiet. We woke up to Hosanna asking to go outside to join her sisters who had been playing in the snow for who knows how long. We finally pulled ourselves out of bed after one of the kids had come in and pulled the curtains down and the reflection of the sunlight off the bright white snow was blinding as it hit every corner of the room. The children ran back outside and I whipped up some waffles, (wockles according to Hosanna) bacon, and scrambled eggs. The girls managed to scarf down their food before heading right back outside for more cold, wet fun. Brian talked me into coming outside and before I knew it we were competing in a snowman competition. His boyish flirting came flying through the air in the form of a snowball that hit me square on the back. We came in before I exercised my gifts in revenge. That is probably for the best. He allowed me to turn on the gas logs for a few minutes to thaw out my toes (we're trying not to use them, so difficult.) He made us some refreshing momosas and we snuggled on the couch under a quilt. I am so ready for spring, but no work and more snow has brought the rest we needed.
